2014 Jingmai Old Forest
This very special sheng-style pu erh was made in 2014 from the leaves of old forest trees that are over 100 years old. Located in Yunnan Province in southwestern China, these old forest trees have been tended by multiple generations of the same ethnic Dai family using natural farming methods.Ā
This raw pu erh is ready to drink or age and is a lovely balance of earth and sky with grounded notes of hazelnut and pine resin lifted by a breeze of eucalyptus. You will note that the aroma of this cup is complex and ever-evolving from mossy forest to a strong herbaceous note and even leaving the lingering fragrance of gardenia in the cup after you've taken your final sip.Ā
We recommend setting aside some of these leaves to mature, as this pu erh's flavor and aroma will continue to evolve as it ages.Ā
